Charismatic people seem to get everything they want and more.
People look up to them. People follow them. And people want to be like them.
But there’s one very important trait that all charismatic people have.
It’s impossible to be influential and charismatic if others can’t honestly say,
‘You know what, I really like this person.’
Being likeable is something that a lot of us overlook in our pursuit of success and happiness in this life.
We’re always thinking of ways to achieve more, to get more stuff done in the day and ways to get to our goals faster, but we don’t put much thought into being a more likeable person.
Think about it this way.
You could possess all the skills and talents in the world but if people don’t like you and you can’t work with others well, you’re greatly limiting the number of opportunities you’re going to have in life.
Now I’m not saying that you should try to please everyone and make everyone like you. That’s impossible.
But you greatly reduce the chances of someone disliking you if you’re a likeable person. And you instantly become more wanted by others (in a good way).
It’s really not that hard.
Listen more than you talk.
Give the person you’re talking to your fullest attention.
Be authentic, kind and empathic.
Help others out.
You don’t have to be the most outspoken person in a group to be likeable.
You don’t have to be the most fluent speaker in a group to be likeable.
You don’t even have to speak to be likeable in most situations.
Forget all that you know and hear about being likeable and charismatic.
Be likeable for your actions and people will gravitate towards you.
