How much should we accept the way we are and how much should we strive for improvement?
Some of us are so obsessed with improving ourselves that we’re never satisfied with what we have.
Some of us are too content with the way things are that we become too comfortable and stagnant in life.
So where do we draw the line then?
Too much of either is a bad thing.
What should we do then?
Well, be a bit of both.
There should be middle ground.
There should be balance.
Accept yourself for who you are.
But also realize that if you love yourself, you need to be improving in some way.
It sounds contradicting but that’s what real self-love is all about.
The fact that you accept yourself for who you are but you want to be the best version of yourself that you possibly can.
That’s where the phrase “being the best version of yourself comes from”.
Improving yourself as much as you can without changing who you really are.
It’s essentially building upon the strengths that you already have and working on your weaknesses.
Not about changing who you are.
It’s about levelling up yourself as much as you can in life while still staying true to yourself.
That’s what self-love is all about.
